In the wake of last week’s horrific death of Budo Junior School children, Proline Soccer Academy on Sunday dedicated their 2-0 victory over London Cranes Utd to the lost souls.

The academy, which is touring England for a series of matches against the youth teams of Premiership clubs, impressed the watching Ugandan community with a superb performnace.

Goals by Ronnie Kisekka and Juma Sakari delivered the victory. There was a minute’s silence before the match in memory of the 20 children who died in last week’s Budo fire.

“It was a tragedy to see such lovely kids die so young. So the boys played with their hearts out in memory of their souls,” said Academy directorlton Mujib Kasule.

Proline’s first match is tomorrow at Millwall and the team is oozing confidence.

The chilly weather has not affected their preparations and the side has enjoyed top class reception in London.

On Saturday, the whole team was given a special reception at West Ham’s Upton Park and watched the Premiership match against Derby. Academy patron Julian Ferdinand gave the side fine company.
