PROLINE SOCCER ACADEMY BEGUN 2ND DIVISION CAMPAIGN WITH CONSECUTIVE WINS
Proline Soccer Academy's Senior Side (U-18) has started its Nakawa Second Division Campaign with two back to back wins over Kakajjo F.C. (Bweyogerere) and Dynamo F.C. (Kireka) respectively.
The first game which was played on Friday 13th June 2008, Proline beat Kakajjo F.C. by 2 - 1 at KCC F.C./Proline Soccer Academy (P.S.A.) Training Ground Lugogo. In this game though Matovu Sulaiman "Malouda" was man of the match, Lopida Robert "Wurube" had a brace on his name by converting two out of two free kicks which Proline won at the edge of the keeper's box in a single first half.
Kakajjo took advantage of a relaxed P.S.A. defence in the 84 minutes to pull one back through their half-nine who had been quiet the entire minutes played.
Asked goal keeper Bulkhan Mayanja Ssebugwawo first about conceding an equally last minute goal and above all winning his first game as Proline Captain? He said, "Football is a funny game. Any second you can score a goal or scored against but the most important thing is to capitalize your chances".
The second game was 1 - 0 win over Dynamo F.C. from Kireka, Matovu Sulaiman "Malouda" getting a second half all important goal. This powerful strike in the right hand corner was a result of a well passed ball from Lopida Robert "Wurube" from a counter attack.
Though Proline played much better especially in the second half compared to the previous game (Kakajjo F.C.), the Sunday 15th June 2008 game was special in the way that at half time when players are supposed to rest for 15 minutes before second half kicks off, Proline was instead warming up throughout. This was done under the supervision of their Director Mujib Kasule.
On the different note, this very side (U - 18), last Monday 9th June 2008 started their much awaited gym classes at the magnificent Hotel Africana Health Club which will last for about 9 months. 20 boys and some Proline Officials, according to the current program train three days a week, that is every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, unless stated.
About the gym experience, so far no boy is complaining, for they are all excited about the whole process. Some even went ahead to challenge me to ask their recent opponents if am to acknowledge the power of gym in football. All I can note is that, time will tell.
